- DESCRIPTION
- : In an increasingly interconnected world, the impacts of climate change and disasters transcend borders—requiring coordinated, global responses grounded in shared knowledge and local action. This session explores the complex dynamics of climate-related vulnerability through an international lens, highlighting comparative insights from diverse geographic, social, and economic contexts.
Bringing together global experts, policymakers, and practitioners, the session will examine how countries and regions are addressing climate-driven disasters—such as droughts, floods, wildfires, and sea-level rise—while managing social vulnerabilities and systemic inequities. Key themes include cross-border disaster risk management, climate migration and displacement, adaptation finance, and the evolving role of international organizations in risk governance.
Special attention will be given to transdisciplinary approaches that integrate science, local knowledge, and policy innovation. The session aims to facilitate international learning, identify gaps in global coordination, and promote inclusive frameworks for resilience. By bridging the local and global, this discussion will contribute to shaping policy agendas and strengthening global solidarity in the face of shared climate risks.
